St. Louis Residential Window Repairs
Hyperion Glass Company specializes in fogged glass replacement in residential windows. Insulated windows are made from 2 or 3 panes of glass with spacers between them and then the entire unit is sealed together. The space between the panes of glass is what gives you your insulation. Dry air provides good insulation. Damp air provides poor insulation. If you have a window, or windows, that look dirty and won’t come clean or have moisture inside you can’t wipe off, that means that the seal has failed and moisture has gotten between the panes. Once this happens, these units not only look bad, but your insulation is effectively gone as well. When you give us a call, one of our experienced installers will discuss your options with you and figure out the best way to solve your problems.
Glass is glass, but there are many different options when it comes to the types of glass. Thickness. Tint. Patterns. Efficiency. Safety glass. Even argon filled. Whatever you’re looking for, we can help explain it and tell you your different options. And with our Lifetime Seal Warranty, you won’t have to worry about buying glass again.
But one thing we won’t do is try to remove the fog from your windows. Some companies might suggest or offer to remove the moisture by drilling holes in your glass and installing “one-way” vent that are supposed to allow the moisture to escape. The problem with that? Once the seal is failed and moisture is getting into the window, it next to impossible to remove all the fog or moisture. And if you have a hole in your glass, your window isn’t re-insulated. This means you’re losing out on the potential savings of having a new, insulated unit installed in your window.
But new glass in your window isn’t the only thing we do at Hyperion Glass. We provide custom mirrors, glass shelving, door-glass, table-tops, railings, and shower glass enclosures.
